Cruceta Fabric By The Yard

$245.00

Handwoven by Gudi on a traditional footloom, Cruceta draws its inspiration from one of Guatemala's most intimate weaving traditions, the delicate lacework seen on backstrap woven scarves and blouses, worked by hand across generations of artisans.

The technique at its heart is as precise as it is poetic. As Gudi weaves, he pauses to twist two warp threads around one another by hand, then passes a weft thread through the crossing to hold it in place. This small, deliberate act, repeated across the width and length of the cloth, creates a series of delicate open crosses, each one formed by hand, each one a quiet testament to patience and skill. It is the kind of detail that could easily go unnoticed, and yet it is everything.

The result is a fabric of extraordinary delicacy, where light passes freely through each cross section, making Cruceta a natural choice for window treatments, where it can do what it was born to do: let the light in, beautifully filtered through the rhythm of the weaver's hands.
